USC football fans make the earth move during Sandstorm
A study by University of South Carolina geology student Ellie Widis revealed that the raucous enthusiasm of Gamecock fans at football games produces recordable vibrations on a seismometer. While considerably smaller than vibrations caused by an earthquake, the movement was quite noticeable.
